One-way crossing · Teluk Nara → Labuan Bajo · Apr–Nov sailing season

Liveaboard & cruise · one-way

Four days aboard, three nights at anchor.

Sleeping on board is the point. The boat leaves Senggigi or Bangsal, works its way east through the islands and hands you back in Labuan Bajo four days later. There is no return leg to sit through.

On the water

Where a four-day cruise stops.

A liveaboard trades transfers for anchorages. You wake where the boat stopped, and the day starts in the water rather than in a minibus.

Stop 1

Komodo National Park

The reason the route exists: dragons in their own habitat, seen on foot with a ranger. April to November gives the steadiest viewing conditions.

Stop 2

Padar Island

The staple hike of every sailing trip, up to the view over three distinct beaches — white, black and pink.

  • Viewpoint
  • three beaches

Stop 3

Pink Beach

Calm, shallow and photogenic. Snorkelling and not much else, which is exactly the appeal after a night under way.

  • Snorkelling
  • pink sand

Stop 4

Manta Point

Snorkelling with manta rays, consistent enough that most 2027 sailings plan the day around it.

  • Manta rays
  • open water

Stop 5

Teluk Saleh

On the whale shark itineraries only: a detour into Saleh Bay for a rare chance to swim alongside them.

  • Whale sharks
  • seasonal

Stop 6

Kenawa & Gili Kondo

The quieter islands many cruises add for extra snorkelling and beach time on the Sumbawa side.

  • Kenawa
  • Gili Kondo

Stops move with weather and park regulations, and whale shark encounters are seasonal and never guaranteed.

Season

When the Flores Sea behaves.

Departures run right through 2027, but the water is not the same all year, and a liveaboard feels the difference more than a day trip does.

  • Apr–Nov

    Dry season

Stable weather, calm seas and the best visibility for snorkelling and diving.

  • Oct – Nov

    Shoulder months

Quieter boats, with group departures scheduled into November 2027.

  • Jan – Apr

    Wet season

Some tours still operate, but this is the window to plan around rather than into.

Departure days are set by boat class: luxury sailings usually leave on Saturday, deluxe options on Wednesday or Sunday.

All answered questions

Are there private liveaboard options?

Yes. A private liveaboard means booking the entire boat for your own group, with exclusive amenities, a tailored itinerary and a departure date the group chooses.

How long is a liveaboard tour?

Four days and three nights is the typical duration. That is enough to cover Komodo Island, Padar Island, Pink Beach and Manta Point without rushing any of them.

What is the best time of year?

The dry season, April to November. It brings stable weather, calm seas and the clearest water for snorkelling and diving.

Are park fees included in the cruise price?

Komodo National Park entry fees are often separate from the base cruise price. Everything is itemised in your quote so the total is clear before you commit.
