One-way crossing · Teluk Nara → Labuan Bajo · Apr–Nov sailing season

Gili Trawangan · Gili Air · Gili Meno

Sail to Komodo from the Gilis.

You do not need to backtrack to Bali. We collect you from Gili T, Air or Meno, run you across Lombok by private car, and put you on the 4D3N Komodo boat at Kayangan Harbour the same day.

The transfer

Three legs, one morning.

The Gilis have no direct long-haul service to Komodo, and the boats leave from the opposite side of Lombok. So the transfer is assembled — a short crossing to the mainland, a drive east, then the sailing itself.

  • Leg 1

    Your Gili to Bangsal Harbour

A short boat crossing from Gili Trawangan, Gili Air or Gili Meno to Bangsal, the mainland gateway on Lombok's northwest coast.

  • Leg 2

    Bangsal to Kayangan Harbour

A private car across northern Lombok to Kayangan Harbour at Labuan Lombok — around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic.

  • Leg 3

    Timed against your boat

We hold your spot, confirm your arrival with the captain, and build a buffer into the timing so a slow Gili crossing does not cost you the departure.

Luggage handling is covered in your briefing: what comes aboard, what stays behind, and and how storage works in the cabins. The same transfer runs in reverse for travellers finishing in Lombok.

Booking from the Gilis

Four messages, and you are on the boat.

  1. 01

    Send your island and dates

Message us with your travel dates, which Gili island you are on, and how many people are in your group. Most Gili guests are already mid-trip, so keep it short.

  2. 02

    Get your options back

Available departure dates, boat class — deck, cabin or luxury phinisi — and the pickup add-on quote for your particular island.

  3. 03

    Deposit and written confirmation

A deposit locks your spots. You get written confirmation carrying your pickup time and your meeting point.

  4. 04

    Collected on departure morning

You travel escorted the whole way, door to deck, to Kayangan Harbour. Last-minute requests often work in low and shoulder season; for July to August and New Year, book one to two weeks ahead.

Asked from the beach

Four questions, answered straight.

All the questions, answered

Do I have to go back to Bali first?

No. Backtracking to Bali is unnecessary and adds a full day or more of travel. The eastbound route through Lombok is shorter and turns the journey itself into the holiday — you sail through Kenawa, Saleh Bay and the national park instead of sitting in transit.

What time do I leave my Gili island?

Typically in the morning. The exact time depends on your boat's scheduled departure from Kayangan Harbour and on sea conditions at Bangsal. We confirm your precise pickup window in writing the day before, with a buffer built in.

Does the trip bring me back to the Gilis?

No. The standard 4D3N trip is one-way and ends in Labuan Bajo, where most guests fly onward from Komodo Airport or carry on into Flores. If you need to come back west, reverse-route departures from Labuan Bajo run regularly and we can line one up with your dates.

Is the crossing safe, and what about seasickness?

The route is sailed year-round, with the calmest conditions generally between April and November. Boats carry life jackets and experienced local crews, and we place guests only on vessels we work with directly. If you are prone to seasickness, take something before the Sumbawa to Komodo leg on night two — it is the longest open-water stretch of the trip.
