One-way crossing · Teluk Nara → Labuan Bajo · Apr–Nov sailing season

Families, honeymoons & groups · 2027

One boat, two very different trips.

The same 4-day, 3-night sailing from Lombok to Labuan Bajo carries a family of five and a couple on honeymoon. What has to be right is the boat and the cabin — and those are chosen for the passengers, not the route.

Who it is for

Four travellers, four different boats.

The itinerary is the same on every departure. What changes is the cabin, the pace and the company — and getting those right is the whole job.

Families

Room to spread out, and a guide who explains things

Private cabins on deluxe or luxury boats, snorkelling supervised with equipment provided, and dragon spotting with a ranger under set safety protocols. The Padar climb has gradual sections most of a family can manage.

  • Private cabin
  • Supervised snorkelling
  • Ranger-guided

Honeymooners

Privacy, quiet coves and unhurried days

A private cabin on a luxury liveaboard leaving Saturdays, with enhanced amenities, gourmet meals and personalised service. The itinerary leans towards quieter coves, stargazing well away from town light, and unhurried time at the scenic stops.

  • Luxury liveaboard
  • Saturdays
  • Private cabin

Groups

Corporate retreats, university trips, big family gatherings

Sharing a cabin keeps the cost down across a large party, with dedicated logistical support for transfers and coordinated activities. Specific departures can be arranged around your dates.

  • Shared cabin
  • Tailored dates

Backpackers

The cheapest way to make the same crossing

The smallest cabin on the identical core itinerary — Komodo Island, Padar and Manta Point are not cut from the budget version. Rustic comfort, and a boat full of people to meet.

  • Own cabin
  • From USD 425

Whichever you book, the sailing is one-way: Lombok to Labuan Bajo, with the Komodo entry fee paid separately on arrival and park registration taking a passport copy for every traveller.

How to plan it

Tell us who is travelling, first.

  1. 01

Tell us who is on board

Ages, and whether this is a honeymoon, a family holiday or a party of twenty. That one answer decides which boats we put in front of you.

  2. 02

Choose the cabin, not the boat

Which of the five cabins suits you. We come back with what is genuinely available on your dates and what each one costs.

  3. 03

    Hold it with a deposit

Free cancellation is often available up to four days before departure, so you can commit to dates without committing to the weather.

  4. 04

    Transfers and activities coordinated

Group departures get dedicated logistical support: transfers arranged, activities coordinated, and departure dates lined up with yours where we can.

Before you book

What families and couples ask.

Every question, answered

Which trip works best for a family?

The 4-day, 3-night private cabin liveaboard. It gives you comfortable accommodation, supervised activities that work across a range of ages, and a balanced run through Komodo Island, Padar Island and Pink Beach without a punishing pace.

Can we book a private cabin for 2027?

Yes. Every berth on this crossing is a cabin — there is no deck option. The five cabins run from USD 425 to USD 755 per person on the open trip, all air-conditioned and all with an ensuite bathroom.

When is the best time to sail?

The dry season, April to November: stable weather, calm seas and good visibility for snorkelling and diving, which is when the dragons, the whale sharks and Pink Beach all show best. January to April is generally worth avoiding.

Tell us how many of you there are, how old the youngest is, and what you want the four days to feel like. We come back with the boats that actually fit that, not a list of everything afloat.
