One-way crossing · Teluk Nara → Labuan Bajo · Apr–Nov sailing season

Editorial desk

The crossing, written honestly.

The eastward passage from Lombok through Sumbawa to Komodo National Park, with the sailing and overland realities most listings leave out.

How this desk works

What we check, and what we will not claim.

  1. 01 What makes this crossing different It crosses two serious bodies of water, it is weather-dependent for much of the year, and the boats range from well-found vessels to converted fishing hulls. Our pages separate those tiers explicitly and say which months the passage is routinely cancelled.
  2. 02 How we check the season and the safety picture Seasonal viability is written from operators' cancellation records and the Indonesian meteorological agency's outlook, dated each season. Safety equipment counts, capacity and crew numbers are recorded per vessel.
  3. 03 What we do not claim We are a booking and comparison desk — not an operator, not a surveyor and not the park authority. We publish no crew credentials and make no safety certification claim on any operator's behalf.
  4. 04 Before you book a crossing Ask us which month you are looking at. Some months the honest answer is not to sail, and we would rather say so than sell you a date the sea will cancel.

Reading is the easy part. Tell us your dates.

Send the month you are looking at and how many of you are travelling. Some months the honest answer is not to sail, and we will say so.
