One-way crossing · Teluk Nara → Labuan Bajo · Apr–Nov sailing season

What we actually do

One route, sailed again and again.

We do not sell the archipelago. We sell one multi-day passage between Lombok and Labuan Bajo on traditional wooden phinisi, and we sail it often enough to know where the current turns and which cove is worth the night.

The specialisation

Five things we plan for you.

A crossing is not one decision. It is a handful of them, made in the right order, and most of them are made before you board.

One

The route

Where the secluded coves and the coral gardens are along this corridor, and which of them is worth an anchorage on the night your boat is passing it.

  • Coves
  • coral gardens

Two

The timing

Tides, local weather patterns and the hours of the day that actually put you in front of Komodo dragons rather than behind a queue of other boats.

  • Tides
  • weather

Three

The park

Komodo National Park entry permits and the park's own rules, arranged before you arrive, so nothing is being settled at a counter on the morning you want to be walking.

  • Permits
  • rangers

Four

The galley

Menus built around what the boat can actually provision and what you have told us you eat. Dietary requirements are planned in, not improvised at sea.

  • Diets
  • allergies

Five

The boat

Which cabin suits your group, how the deck works, and what the vessel can realistically set up. A sunset on the sundeck and a dinner ashore are not the same job.

  • Cabins
  • sundeck

Local etiquette, what to wear ashore and what to leave on the boat: ask, and you will be told before you need to know it.

All 100 answered questions

What do you specialise in?

One thing: the multi-day phinisi passage between Lombok and Labuan Bajo. We do not run a catalogue of Indonesian holidays, which is why the answers on this site are specific rather than general.

Are you the operator or a booking agent?

The operator. The captains, the hosts and the desk are the same organisation, so the itinerary you agree is the one the captain is briefed on.

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes, given notice. Vegetarian is routine, and allergies and stricter diets can be planned for. A boat galley provisions before it sails, so tell us at booking rather than at boarding.

Who decides the day's plan once we are at sea?

The captain, reading the tide, the wind and park access. The published route is a reliable template; the order of the stops inside it follows the water.
